1. UML Cable Locators & Civil Ltd (UML) will:
  • Exercise reasonable care to mark out the location of underground assets identified on the obstruction plans, the extent of the mark out will be determined by the requirements of the customer.
  • Use the provided obstruction plans and/or cable locating equipment or Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) to estimate the location.
  • Provide the on-site mark out via spray painting the ground to indicate a corridor where the assets are estimated to be.
  1. UML specially disclaims liability for incidental or consequential damages and assumes no responsibility or liability for nay loss or damage suffered by any person as a result of the use or misuse of any information provided.
  2. The customer acknowledges that:
  • Obstruction plans provided by Asset Owners are provided for reference purposes only and may not be accurate, complete, or up to date.
  • The accuracy of the cable locating equipment or GPR used by UML can be influenced by many variables and cannot be relied upon to precisely indicate location or depth of the Assets.
  • The mark out is provided as a guide only and cannot be relied upon as an accurate representation of the location of the underground assets.
  • No warranty is provided by UML as the accuracy of depth of the mark out, as depth may vary.
  • The customer is required to hand dig to confirm the location of all marked out Vector assets prior to any drilling or machine excavation, and is solely and entirely responsible for meeting its obligations to locate and protect the underground assets of utility companies.
  • There are cautions within properties/boundaries, as service plans are not provided for inside properties. GPR and locate can be carried out however UML will do their best in locating services within the property not 100% guarantee.
  • Concrete driveways and car parks where steel mesh is used in layering the concrete, this can interfere with the GPR and locate carried out.
  1. The customer is responsible for all site protection relating to the services including:
  • Management of vehicle and pedestrian traffic.
  • Obtaining all required statutory and local body consents that may be required prior to UML assessing the site to perform services.
  1. The customer shall pay for the services as outlined in the invoice(s) by the due date. Late payment will attract a finance fee of 25% of outstanding amount owing per week. Invoices that remain unpaid will be passed onto a debt collection agency at customer’s cost.
